Deal or No Deal

Now, I'm not the most outgoing person on the planet. Heck, I'm not the friendliest person in my home. So when Handsome Husband decided it was a good idea to try out for Deal or No Deal, I was less than enthusiastic.
But one of the things I love about him is his ability to get me out of my comfort zone. Really. I need it.
So off we trudged this morning to the local mall-- ready to join the unwashed masses for a chance to meet Howie Mandel and win a million bucks. (It's not like I had a whole lot planned for today anyway-- errands and Rome Season 2 Disc 1.)
We were fortunate enough to get in line with some really nice people which helped pass the time.
The time.
It was four hours in the damp cold as we wound our way around the mall-- the OUTSIDE of the mall-- before we got the chance to get inside and warm our bones.
Once indoors, we were told we'd have about 20 seconds to impress the screeners.
Bummer.

I've got a runny nose, my feet are killing me, and I'm cold.
So what am I going to do?
When in doubt, make up a rhyme.
So I came up with:
I've got nerves of steel
So I'll say, "No Deal"!

It worked.
I got past the screener and on to the second level.

Again, we had 20 seconds to impress the second screener.
Heck, I thought, it worked the first time.
So I did it again.
And the table of 10 potential contestants laughed.

Good sign.

Now it's just a waiting game.
Maybe they'll call, maybe they won't.
I'm not going to worry about it-- I still have to get a job.

So what do these pictures have to do with Deal or No Deal? Or the mall? Well, they're of just some of the debris left by potential contestants around the outside of the mall. And when I say "some" of the debris I mean just that. This is just a small fraction of even what we took pictures of.

We made a game out of it though. I call it Detritus or No Detritus.
