We'll Have a Gay Old Time

My Partner in Crime and I went to see Sex and the City the movie last night. (Click the pic for the link.) Gotta say... I loved it. I know. I know. I'm gay. I laughed, I cried. It was better than Cats.
I got caught up in the story of Carrie and the girls right off the bat. Not too seriously, mind you. I never wore oversized flowers as an accessory. But I did sleep around a lot.
I even got my mom hooked. For some reason, she and I were alone one Christmas eve several years ago and had the tube on. The edited version of the show came on and she remarked how she enjoyed it, but knew she was missing "the good parts". So off we went to the video store and picked up a DVD. What followed was a memorable evening of wine and a SATC marathon.
A month later I learned she'd purchased herself the deluxe box set. You go, mom.

It was refreshing too to be in a theater full of women. A BIG change from last weekend when we went and saw Iron Man. I enjoyed that too. But these women last night were cool. Many of them in Carrie drag. Some of them talking back to the screen. And they seemed to run the gamut of demographics. It was cool.

Update: okay, clicking the pic didn't work... here's the link for the movie. Sorry.
