Knee Deep in Memories

Well, I've just completed my first week at my new job.
And it's all good.
The work will be challenging -- and massive in scope.
My bosses are cool and the workplace seems very laid back (yay).
This also marks the first time I've ever had my own office -- a mindf*ck in and of itself. So, for the first time, I'm faced with the prospect of decorating.

Art a la Ma

Now, unlike many other Gentlemen with the Style Gene, I'm pretty much decor-challenged. However, I happen to have some paintings that were done by my mother either before I was born or shortly thereafter. All I can say is that I remember them hanging in the kitchen when I was a child.
They disappeared shortly thereafter -- only to be rediscovered some years ago as we (my mother, brothers, and I) were cleaning out the attic after my father's death. Mother didn't seem particularly attached to them, so I took them.
They had a place of prominence in the condo -- but this is the first time they're hung with care as a conversation piece.
I like them.
